Marty Rathbun: Violent psychopath, cult militia leader

Long before his stunning fall from grace and expulsion from the Church of Scientology, Marty Rathbun was a practitioner of violence.

It was violence he perpetrated furtively, in secret.

It was the violence of a coward.

And, as cowards do, Rathbun—when confronted by his violence—would tearfully confess.

MARTY RATHBUN: A former external affairs officer, removed from authority within the Church of Scientology eight years ago for gross malfeasance. Rathbun is a self-proclaimed psychotic with a long history of violence-including more than 50 separate acts of assault against co-workers, one in which he nearly killed a man with his fists. He's lately added a few more notches to his belt: publicly admitting to suborning perjury and obstruction of justice, while formally and ceremoniously getting himself arrested for disorderly conduct-in New Orleans, no less.
